Some of these parts have to be replaced at fairly short intervals — brake pads or filters, for example — while others are considerably more robust and long-lived, such as the engine, the gearbox or the transfer case. Even so, these central components can of course wear out and fail too, and then they have to be replaced.

Unlike small spare parts, however, choosing the right replacement engine or gearbox is not at all straightforward. Even the engine code letter is no guarantee that the part will fit the vehicle, because some engines and gearboxes are available in several variants.

For that reason we ask you to send us a photo of your vehicle registration document or your vehicle identification number (VIN/FIN) before you buy. We hold the complete spare parts catalogues of the various manufacturers, so that using the chassis number together with the TecDoc and Partslink systems we can tell you with certainty whether a replacement engine, gearbox or transfer case fits your vehicle. Alternatively, you can enter the part you want along with your vehicle identification number in our order form. We then verify the fit before we confirm the purchase.
